Shaila is an artistic gymnast from Mexico. She grew up in training centers, because her dad used to be in charge of this municipality venues. At age 5 she started her training but she had to stop after her brother was born.

Later when she was 8 years old she came back and nothing could stop her. She made the National Team, began home schooling and from there she began competing at a professional level.

She retired three years ago, but she is still working as a gymnastics trainer and studying physiotherapy and actively practicing crossfit, climbing, rappel, cycling, athletics and squash.

In her free time she likes to spend time reading, traveling and with her friends. Her boyfriend is also a gymnast, part of Mexico national team. They have known each other since they were little kids, but have only been romantically involved for five months.

They have a business together, “MX Chalk”, distributing sport magnesium. Also she works as a music/audio editor, creating theme music for gymnastics “Gymnastics floor music MX”.

Her godmother lives in Washington DC.
