Jeyvier Cintrón began playing baseball, basketball and boxing when he was five years old, following in the footsteps of his father, who was also a boxer and is now his coach. At age seven he had his first fight.

He is a born athlete who practiced three sports during his school years, but at the age of 17 he decided to focus solely on boxing. He dreams of becoming a world champion and is on his way to achieving it.

He is the only Puerto Rican boxer who has participated in two Olympic Games: in London 2012 and Rio 2016. He fights at 115 pounds, although his normal weight is 135, and since 2017 he has already fought as a professional
