Jay is a Mechanical Engineer and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Ambassador. He was born in Wisconsin from Puerto Rican parents and now lives in Miami.

His father was in the military (war veteran) and his mother is a psychologist. He was always in love with science, technology and math and became an engineer. That passion for learning math and science made him give a TED talk in the subject that helped him obtain his new title of STEM Ambassador, which means he goes around the world giving talks and conferences to kids and young adults encouraging them to follow his footsteps to develop their talents in this difficult area.

He also likes to exercise his body as well as his mind, mostly using running as his main sport. It was 7 years ago when he learned about OCR. He joined a group and soon became the leader. 5 years ago he started doing international competitions.

In three different occasions he has come in as the only Latin American to finish in the top. He is living with his girlfriend, they’ve been together for 6 years. He is a fan of Exatlon.
